Flow-T is a new bubble gum base specially developed by Cafosa to produce liquid filled gum.

Following one of the most current trends in the confectionery industry, we present Flow-T, a new gum base that combines the properties of different gum bases to produce filled gum.

When producing filled gum the gum has to accept the pressure giving by the set of the dies during the production process and maintain its given shape after its ejection. However sometimes, two undesired effects can occur:

  • Liquid leakage
  • Deformations

In order to avoid these undesired side-effects the gum mass must have the following properties:

• Elasticity: the gum mass should be elastic enough to pass through the sizing rolls without breaking.
  
  
• Cohesion: the gum mass should accept the stretching without reducing its cohesion.
  
  
• Plasticity: the gum mass should accept the quick deformation it undergoes in the stamping machine, and maintain it afterwards.

As shown in the following graphic, Flow-T combines a better elasticity and cohesion with a better plasticity whilst other gum bases only offer one of them.

Flow-T is ideal to produce filled gum because it reduces the chance of undesired effects (such as leakage or deformation) in the production process.
